Herath will be replaced by Mendis
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have announced that spinner Rangana Herath will miss the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan, which gets underway on December 18, due to personal reasons.
Herath is set to join his team-mates in the United Arab Emirates prior to the start of the Test series, which begins on December 31.
Ajantha Mendis, who is currently representing Sri Lanka in the ongoing Twenty20 series, will be Herath’s replacement.
Herath is the second player to drop out of the ODI series due to a personal reason after veteran batsman Mahela Jayawardene took a leave of absence when his wife gave birth earlier this month.
