Farbrace will have a second interview with SLC next week
Former Sri Lanka assistant coach Paul Farbrace has been added to the shortlist for becoming the country’s next head coach after impressing Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) during his first face-to-face interview.
SLC secretary Nishantha Ranatunga revealed that the board want to conduct a second interview with Farbrace next week.
“We spoke to him at SLC today, and it was a cordial discussion,” Ranatunga said. “We told him what we are looking for and he gave us his plans and ideas. We will have the second round of interviews with him next week, which could happen over the phone, or in person.”
The two other candidates who have been shortlisted are former Sri Lanka captain Marvan Atapattu and Mark Davis.
Despite Farbrace having been added to the shortlist, Ranatunga stated that SLC are still willing to accept candidates who boast the right qualifications.
“It’s down to three, but we are open to anyone who is interested and has the right qualifications,” Ranatunga said.
