Cricket Australia have apologised for posting an offensive tweet about England spinner Monty Panesar, in which four bearded men are wearing blue, red, yellow and green shirts and turbans.

Along with the photo, Cricket Australia included the message: “Will the real Monty Panesar please stand up”.

The men in the photo were mimicking the the Teletubbies.

The tweet immediately came under fire as being racist and Cricket Australia soon deleted the post and said: “We apologise for any offence caused by our earlier tweet. That was certainly not the intention. It has been removed.”
