Clarke seemed to be in a lot of pain when the incident occurred

Australia captain Michael Clarke gave the entire country a huge scare earlier today as he appeared to have seriously hurt himself when rolling his ankle during a training session.

Despite leaving the field for a short period of time, Clarke was soon on his feet, but was running a little gingerly.

However, he did manage to bat in the nets later on in the afternoon.

Cricket Australia posted a photo of Clarke holding his ankle via Twitter and said: “He has since completed a nets sessions and is OK.”

If Clarke were to miss the second Ashes Test against England in Adelaide, it would be a massive blow for Australia as he scored a magnificent 113 in the second innings of the baggy greens’ 381-run win in the first Test in Brisbane.
