Kulkarni has been ruled out of action for an indefinite period of time

Just two days after Dhawal Kulkarni received his maiden national call-up for India’s upcoming ODI series against the West Indies, the Mumbai pace bowler has been sidelined for an unknown period of time after sustaining a foot injury.

Kulkarni complained of pain in his toe last evening and was taken for a scan, which has ruled him out for an indefinite period.

It is understood that Vinay Kumar will replace him in the squad, despite his horrendous performance against Australia just last month.

In the final match against Australia in Bangalore, Kumar gave away 102 runs off his 10 overs, which is the most runs conceded by an Indian bowler in an ODI.

The first ODI between India and the West Indies is scheduled to get underway on November 21 in Kochi.
