Temporary structures will be put in place for the fifth Ashes Test
The Sports Ground Trust have revealed that ongoing renovations at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) will not be completed by the start of the fifth and final Ashes Test in January.
The Sports Ground Trust added that some temporary structures will be put in place so that fans can still enjoy the historic series.
“While practical completion for the new stands is expected early in 2014, we are working towards opening the majority of facilities for day one of the Test Match,” the Sports Ground Trust said in an update.
According to sources, the renovation of the Bradman and Noble stands at the SCG will cost approximately AUD 186 million (USD 176 million).
The fifth Ashes Test between arch-rivals England and Australia will begin on January 3.
