Chandimal will captain the second tier side
Sri Lanka will play two 50-over warm-up matches against a second tier team at the Sinhalese Sports Club on November 5 and 7 in preparation for their upcoming limited overs home series against New Zealand, which gets underway on November 10 in Hambantota.
The second tier team, which will be captained by Dinesh Chandimal, will also feature Lahiru Thirimanne, Shaminda Eranga, who has been omitted for the first two ODIs, Suranga Lakmal and Thisara Perera.
Newcomer Ashan Priyanjan, who is a middle order batsman, will represent the top tier side.
Sri Lanka have not played any international cricket since their home series against South Africa in early August.
