India’s tour of South Africa to begin on December 5

India will arrive in South Africa on December 2

After weeks of going back and forth, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket South Africa have finally confirmed that India’s tour of South Africa will get underway on December 5 with an ODI In Johannesburg.

The other two ODIs will be hosted by Durban on December 8 and Centurion on December 11.

Following the conclusion of the limited overs series, India will play a two-day warm-up match against the South African Invitation XI in Benoni from December 14 to 15.

The first Test match between the two nations will take place from December 18 to 22 in Johannesburg, while the second Test in Durban will be the Boxing Day Test, meaning that it will begin on December 26 and conclude on December 30.

Cricket South Africa president Chris Nenzani revealed that following the Proteas’ Test series against India, Australia will come into town and face the national team in a series consisting of three Test matches.

“After the completion of our two Test matches against India we will have a further three Tests against Australia,” Nenzani said. “This will allow all of our five premier Test match venues to host a five-day match. I would also like to assure all our stakeholders that we are working on plans to fill the gaps in our international itinerary for the 2013-14 season.”
