Tendulkar sustained the injury in a match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad
Legendary India batsman Sachin Tendulkar has revealed that he “had surgery on my hand for the injury I sustained during the IPL [Indian Premier League] match in May”.
Tendulkar injured his hand in a match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad after smashing leg-spinner Karan Sharma for a six, upon where he found it hard to grip his bat and eventually called for the physiotherapist.
Tendulkar ended up retiring hurt and underwent a scan, which revealed swelling around his wrist and a tendon in his left hand.
The ‘Little Master’ was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the tournament and flew to London to surgically repair his hand.
“I had surgery on my hand for the injury I sustained during the IPL match in May,” Tendulkar was quoted as saying by PTI. “I have already started batting in the nets since the last ten days.”
