This will be Sri Lanka’s first Test series since March
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have announced the addition of two Twenty20 Internationals to the national team’s tour of Zimbabwe in October, which originally consisted of just two Test matches, three ODIs and one two-day warm-up game.
Both Test matches and the first two ODIs will be played at the Harare Sports Club, while the third and final ODI, along with the two Twenty20 Internationals, will by played at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
The two-day warm-up game will be played in Harare, but there has been no word on who the opposition will be.
Sri Lanka’s last Test series came against Bangladesh in March and they may consider giving their senior players as much match practice as possible, especially since they are squaring off against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates at the end of the year.
Excluding the upcoming Test series against Pakistan, which gets underway on December 31, Sri Lanka have only played five Test matches all year long.
