Warner described the incident as “friendly banter”
Australia batsman David Warner seems to love getting himself into arguments and fights as he was involved in yet another altercation, only this time it did not take place in a bar and did not result in anyone getting punched.
During Australia A’s match against South Africa A, Warner became embroiled in a heated dispute with South Africa A wicketkeeper Thami Tsolekile and the pair had to be separated by South Africa A’s Vaughn van Jaarsveld and the on-field umpires.
However, Warner noted that the incident was just “friendly banter” and further explained his actions via Twitter.
“Great to be back playing cricket, had lots of fun this week and a bit of friendly banter from the wicket keeper,” he said. “Was very funny!!”
Warner was shipped off to South Africa with the rest of the Australia A squad in order to gain some much-needed match practice after he was dropped for the first two Ashes Tests at Trent Bridge and Lord’s.
Warner was also recently suspended till the start of the Ashes series for punching England’s Joe Root at the Walkabout bar in Birmingham during the Champions Trophy.
Only a few days ago, Warner admitted that he needed a “kick up the bum” and that his actions had directly resulted in head coach Mickey Arthur getting fired.
