The CLT20 will run from September 21 to October 6
This year’s Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) is set to start off with a bang as the Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, the Mumbai Indians, will square off against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on September 21.
Both IPL franchises are in Group A and will be joined by the Highveld Lions, who won South Africa’s domestic Twenty20 competition, and the Perth Scorchers from Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL).
Meanwhile, Group B includes the Chennai Super Kings, the Brisbane Heat, who won the BBL last year, South Africa’s Nashua Titans and Trinidad and Tobago.
The Otago Volts, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Faisalabad Wolves and the winner of Sri Lanka’s domestic T20 tournament, which is yet to be decided, will play the Qualifiers, which is scheduled to get underway on September 17 in Hyderabad.
The top two sides will go on to occupy the remaining vacant spot in each of the two groups.
The CLT20 final will be held on October 6 in Delhi.
