Buttler is constantly receiving pointers from Kieswetter on how to improve his game
England batsman Jos Buttler has announced that he is still on good terms with his Somerset team-mate Craig Kieswetter after replacing him as the national team’s wicketkeeper in ODIs.
Buttler took over as wicketkeeper after the third ODI against India and since then he has produced some outstanding performances with both the bat and gloves, which has all but ended Kieswetter’s chances of regaining his coveted spot.
Speaking about the replacement prior to the start of the New Zealand ODI series, Buttler stated that Kieswetter was handling his omission well, but at the same time was extremely determined to regain his spot back.
While Buttler admitted it was not ideal to watch his best friend struggle on the sidelines, he noted that in the end everyone would be gunning for the 11 spots available, but only a lucky few would be chosen to have the honour of representing their country.
Buttler also mentioned that Kieswetter was definitely disappointed at being dropped, but added that he was constantly receiving advice and tips from his Somerset pal, to whom he wished the best of luck.
