Australia has always had a special place in Richards’ heart
West Indies legendary batsman Sir Vivian Richards has announced that he is thoroughly enjoying life in the Land Down Under and added that the country has always held a special place in his heart.
Richards has regularly visited Australia since his first tour of the country with the West Indies in 1975 and recently just completed his spell as the Melbourne Stars’ mentor during the Big Bash League (BBL).
The batting great feels at home in the country since the people are polite and friendly and enjoy quality cricket, just like the fans back in his native West Indies.
Another trait the Australian people have is the fact that they appreciate the fight and heart shown by any opposition, whether they are in a winning or losing position, and it is this outstanding quality that Richards wants all other cricketing nations to adopt.
Richards also believes that Australia provides true cricket fans with an experience they will never forget, even if they are supporting the opposing side.
