Tahir had a dismal series against Australia and paid the price for it
Abandoned South Africa leg-spinner Imran Tahir has vowed to regain his spot on the national roster after being ousted for his horrendous performance in the second Test against Australia in Adelaide late last year.
Tahir stated that there was no way he would be would be throwing the towel in or giving up on his international dreams.
The leg-spinner has rejoined the Highveld Lions and is looking to impress the national selectors with his bowling figures in the domestic league.
However, Tahir admitted that it could be a while before he represented the Proteas again since his primary focus as of right now is to concentrate on his bowling and helping the Lions do well.
Tahir will have to compete with left-arm spinner Robin Peterson for the lone spinner spot on the South African squad, which will be much easier said than done since Peterson has been on a roll as of late.
