A BATTING WITH BIMAL BREAKING REPORT: Matthew Wade needs to work on his glove work and concentration while batting, says Ian Healy

Healy is confident that Wade will continue to grow as time wears on

Former Australia wicketkeeper Ian Healy has advised current keeper Matthew Wade to brush up on his glove work and work on his concentration while batting against pace bowlers who like to bowl a lot of short-pitched deliveries.

Even though Wade scored a magnificent century in his latest Test, which came against Sri Lanka in Sydney, Healy pointed out that the the wicketkeeper batsman was still finding it extremely difficult to deal with deliveries that come on to him too fast and with lightening quick bouncers as well.

Wade’s glove work has come under heavy fire as of late, especially with the number of chances he completely botched against South Africa and Sri Lanka, but Healy recommended that the 25-year-old work on improving aspects of his keeping by continuously repeating it over and over again until it becomes second nature.

Despite everything that has been said, Healy believes Wade will go on to become one of the greatest Australian wicketkeepers in history if he continues to work hard and stay mentally focused at all times.
