Kallis is looking to be part of South Africa’s team during the 2015 ICC World Cup

South Africa veteran all-rounder Jacques Kallis has announced that he has no plans to retire anytime soon since he has been in the form of his life over the past number of series.

Kallis recently became the fourth cricketer in history to surpass the 13,000 Test run mark and noted that the standing ovation he received at his home ground of Newlands will forever remain etched in his memory.

The 37-year-old is also fourth on the all-time runs scorer list, with only Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar (15,645), former Australian captain Ricky Ponting (13,378) and retired India batsman Rahul Dravid (13 288) ahead of him.

Kallis, who has represented South Africa in 159 Test matches, stated that he will start managing his workload from now on in order to ensure that he prolongs his Test career and has the opportunity to play in the 2015 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup.

The veteran all-rounder declared that he would not even contemplate retiring until he accomplished his goals and added that he does not believe he is blocking the way for any youngsters who are looking to make an impact.
