Singh has been in extremely poor form as of late

India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has announced that he is hoping to get his name back on the Test roster by using Ranji Trophy games to impress and convince the national selectors that he is ready to make a comeback.

“I just wanted to come back and play some games because it is important to be in touch,” Singh said. “In Kolkata, the sun sets pretty quickly by 4 pm. It gets really dark and you don’t get any practice by sitting out.

“So its good to be coming over here and bowling lots of overs. It would be good to bowl a few overs and get a few wickets and score some runs, hopefully, and get back into the side and hopefully play the next Test matches and do well there.”

Singh last played in the second Test of India’s four-Test series against England at Mumbai.
