A BATTING WITH BIMAL BREAKING REPORT: Australia’s future is safe in the hands of Matthew Wade, admits Brad Haddin

Wade is still seen as the best wicketkeeper batsman Australia currently have

Australia wicketkeeper batsman Brad Haddin has admitted that the country’s cricketing future is safe in the hands of his successor Matthew Wade, despite some cricket pundits stating that his stay in the Test side may not last much longer.

Despite making a couple of wicketkeeping errors throughout the three-Test series against South Africa, Haddin noted that Wade’s 68 runs in the first innings of the final Test at Perth helped Australia post a somewhat decent total.

Haddin also admitted that his chances of regaining a spot on the Test roster remained slim and added that all he could do was continue training hard and posting up outstanding performances at the domestic level.

“I’ve had a good run,” News.com.au quoted Haddin as saying. “I think Matthew Wade is doing an outstanding job. The critics after the Adelaide Test match were a bit harsh.

“He is playing some very good cricket, and he has been improving at a rapid rate over the past 12 months. From that point of view, Cricket Australia is in very good hands with Matthew.

“All I can do is continually challenge myself at training to be a better cricketer. All the other stuff takes care of itself.”
