A BATTING WITH BIMAL BREAKING REPORT: Pakistan have all the right tools to upset India at home, says Inzamam-ul-Haq

Ul-Haq sees no reason as to why Pakistan cannot beat India at home

Former Pakistan batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq has announced that the national team have all the right tools to upset arch-rivals India at home during their limited overs series.

Ul-Haq, who was the last captain to win a Test and ODI series in India, stated that Pakistan’s bowling attack would give India’s batsmen a run for their money.

“I feel the current Pakistan team have the most formidable bowling attack I have seen for some time,” the Daily Times quoted Inzamam as saying. “The bowlers play a huge role in wins. Our spin attack, in Saeed Ajmal, Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Hafeez, Raza Hassan, is extremely good. In pacers, we have Umar Gul. It’s a quite balanced attack. So we have more chances of winning.”

Ul-Haq, who retired from international cricket in 2007, also noted that Pakistan’s batting woes would be solved if youngsters are given more chances to show their skill and technique.

“If the youngsters – Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq – are given more chances, I reckon our batting would become balanced too,” ul-Haq added. “They are extremely good, have good technique, and know how to play the strokes. I feel, chances they deserved were not provided to them. Asad has the guts of becoming world class batsman.”

The former captain further mentioned that he was pleased to see the resumption of bilateral ties between the two nations.

“It’s a very good thing,” ul-Haq said. “People watch with enthusiasm and the matches are extraordinary. It benefits players too as they learn a lot. Cricket of the both countries takes benefit from it. The new players will take this series with more enthusiasm. It will also help the countries to release the tensions.”
