Dravid knew Tendulkar had been blessed with a gift the first time he saw him play
India batting great Rahul Dravid has revealed that the first time he saw the iconic Sachin Tendulkar play, he knew that the ‘Little Master’ was destined for greatness and would go on to accomplish things other players could only dream about doing.
Dravid noted that it had been a pleasure to play alongside and share the dressing room with Tendulkar and congratulated him on passing his 23rd year in international cricket.
“When I saw sachin for the first time, I just knew he was born to bat,” Dravid said. “Sachin is born to play cricket. It has been an honour to have partnered Sachin everywhere and share dressing room.”
Despite having an excellent Test record himself, Dravid stated that Tendulkar’s cool demeanour and never give up attitude had inspired a whole generation of children to grow up playing cricket.
“Sachin has inspired a whole generation of players,” Dravid added. “Not only from Mumbai but from everywhere… small cities (as well).”
