Hodge is hoping that the BPL will not clash with the Big Bash League
Australian batsman Brad Hodge has announced that he is open to playing in the second edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), despite still awaiting payment from playing in the inaugural edition of the tournament.
Hodge is just one of three Australian players still waiting to be paid, with the other two being veteran spinner Brad Hogg and Shane Harwood.
The Federation of International Cricketer’s Associations (FICA) have called on international players not to include themselves in the auction for the second edition of the BPL in December since many foreign players are still owed money by a majority of the franchises in the tournament.
After FICA issued the statement, Hodge, Hogg and Harwood were all paid the amount of money their were owed almost immediately.
Gerard Sholly, the manager of both Hodge and Harwood, stated that the 37-year-old Hodge was interested in playing the second edition of the tournament, as long as it did not clash with Australia’s Big Bash League.
Sholly also noted that 38-year-old Harwood would not be returning for another season since he retired.
