Pietersen’s comments about Taylor is going to make it harder for him to get selected again

Yet another new twist has emerged in the Kevin Pietersen saga as the disgraced England batsman has apparently been accused of making derogatory comments about debutant James Taylor during the second Test at Headingley.

England Test captain Andrew Strauss was supposed to meet Pietersen about the text messages he sent to South African players during the Test series, some of which included derogatory comments about him and England coach Andy Flower, but after learning about the Taylor incident, Strauss noted that he was no longer in a hurry to meet Pietersen.

Pietersen is trying to get his place back in the England Test squad after being dropped for the final Test at Lord’s due to the text messages scandal, but as more and more new details are revealed, many cricket pundits see Pietersen’s chances of being selected again getting slimmer and slimmer.

According to reports, Pietersen got into a heated dispute with a senior member of the team after criticising Taylor and boasting about his importance to the England squad after his knock of 149 during the second Test.

Taylor, who is just 5ft 4in tall, worked together with Pietersen to put on a 147-run partnership against South Africa during the second Test.

With these latest accusations, Pietersen will find harder to plead his case against the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), who have stated that the England batsman will not be considered for selection until the contents of all the text messages he sent are revealed.

With the talks between Strauss and Pietersen looming, the England batsman will have to find a way to satisfy the Test captain if he is to have any chance of getting his career back on track.
