South Africa captain Graeme Smith has become only the seventh player in cricketing history to score a century in his 100th Test match.
Smith reached his milestone on the third day of the first Test against England at The Oval, which South Africa ended up winning by an innings and 12 runs.
The South African captain’s outstanding innings came to an end on 131 after he was bowled by Tim Bresnan.
Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting is at the top of the group of players scoring a hundred in their 100th Test match, since he scored one in both innings against South Africa at Sydney in 2006.
