Gillespie was one of Australia’s best quick bowlers
Former Australia fast bowler Jason Gillespie has revealed that he believes the current England pace attack is as good as Australia’s all-dominating side.
Gillespie, who was a crucial part of that Australian bowling attack, feels as if England bowling coach David Saker was right on target when he compared the two sides.
Gillespie, took 259 Test wickets during his career, and currently coaches Yorkshire.
According to the Daily Mirror, Gillespie also works very closely with England all-rounder Tim Bresnan.
“That comparison is spot on. It is always difficult to compare eras, but the England bowling unit is absolutely fantastic and deserve the credit they are getting, what we have seen are pretty clinical performances from the England bowlers. The key is performing not just in your home conditions but all over the world and on different surfaces,” Gillespie said.
Gillespie, also had some extra praise for England spinner Graeme Swann, stating that his input into the team cannot be underestimated.
