A BATTING WITH BIMAL BREAKING REPORT: Kevin Pietersen believes this has been his best IPL so far

Pietersen’s scintillating performances have put Delhi on top of the points table

England batsman, Kevin Pietersen announced that he think this year’s IPL has been the best of his career so far.

Pietersen, who played his last game for the Delhi Daredevils against the Rajasthan Royals, is returning home to play in the upcoming West Indies series.

The Englishman was second-highest on the scorers list for the Daredevils, with his best performance coming against Deccan, where he scored an outstanding century.

“The hundred I scored against Deccan at the Kotla, the amazing crows and the chants of ‘KP’ at the ground were absolutely amazing. Those days I will never forget. The way the team has gelled has been great. To turn up from Sri Lanka and be in Delhi and be a part of the team that has been so successful and a leader of the pack is something I will cherish,” Pietersen said.

Australian big-hitter, David Warner will replace Pietersen on the Delhi roster, but the franchise will still miss the amazing energy and unorthodox hitting style the Englishman brought with him.

Pietersen, who was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad that reached the finals in the 2009 edition of the tournament, feels that the tournament has got more competitive.

“I am just about to leave the IPL. The fierce competition between teams is reflected in how close the results have been. It has probably been the best IPL that has been played yet,” he said.
