Bangladesh were clinically broken down by Pakistan, who handed them their 35th innings defeat in 73 test matches, behind batsman Younis Khan’s unbeaten 200.

The horror show started when Bangladesh were dismissed for a meagre 135 runs in their first innings, thanks to some great all round bowling by Pakistan.

Pakistan Captain Misbah-ul-Haq said: “The confidence the team has got from the wins, over the past year and a half is helping us. Our batsmen are experienced now, they know what the demands of Test cricket are.”

The torment continued as three Pakistani batsmen went on to make centuries, the best of the lot being Younis Khan, who guided Pakistan to a massive total of 594-5, while remaining undefeated on a brilliant 200.

Pakistan’s Opening batsmen, Mohammad Hafeez, made 143, while Asad Shafiq also recorded a century, making 104.

Bangladesh batsmen and debutant, Mohammed Nazimuddin, was the only one who somewhat damaged Pakistan, making 31 in the first innings and 78 in the second.

Bangladesh Captain Mushfiqur Rahim said:”Nazimuddin in his first Test showed how to play these guys.”

However, Bangladesh ended up losing the match by an innings and 184 runs.

Pakistan, with this victory, have now won five out of the nine test matches they have played this year.

Younis Khan, who claimed the Man of the Match award, said: “The key is to enjoy cricket, we have a lot of travel, a lot of pressure, you need to enjoy the game. All the credit goes to the boys.”

Captain Rahim added: “After I lost the toss, when you are 5 for 50, it’s difficult to come back. But we fought back well in the second innings. All credit to Pakistan bowlers.”

The win also gives Pakistan a 1-0 lead in the two test series, with the final test scheduled to be played in Mirpur on the 17th of December.
