Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza has been suspended for one ODI and fined 40 per cent of his match fee after being found guilty of maintaining a slow over-rate during his side’s World Cup quarter-final match against India.
Mortaza was suspended for one ODI since this is his second over-rate offence in under 12 months. His first over-rate offence came during Bangladesh’s World Cup match against England on March 9.
The rest of the Bangladesh team were docked 20 per cent of their match fee due to the offence.
Since Mortaza pleaded guilty to the offence, there will be no need for a formal hearing.
