Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has revealed he is working on adding new shots to his repertoire to boost his effectiveness.

Rizwan has been absent from Pakistan’s T20I team for some time, despite his reputation as one of the format’s most consistent run-scorers. Previously a regular opener, he was dropped amid criticism over his strike-rate.

Despite having lost his place, the 33-year-old from Peshawar remains committed to evolving his game in order to become a better batsman.

“I am focusing a lot on my batting and adding new strokes to my range,” he was quoted as saying by NDTV.

Since Rizwan is not part of the T20I side, he was not included in the team selected for the ongoing 2026 T20 World Cup.

The men in green have booked their spot in the Super Eights after beating the Netherlands, United States of America and Namibia in the group stage. Their only loss came against arch-rivals India.

Pakistan’s first Super Eights game will be against New Zealand on February 21 in Colombo.
