Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq firmly believes he can hold his own at the international level since he knows the process he has been through to get there.

Tariq is the latest Pakistan mystery spinner to garner significant attention due to his unorthodox bowling action and wicekt-taking capabilities.

The 28-year-old made his international debut in the three-match T20I series against South Africa, where he took two wickets in one game at an average of 13 and an economy rate of 6.50.

He then proceeded to play in the T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, but once again, only featured in one match.

In that game against Zimbabwe, Tariq was extremely impressive as he finished with figures of 4-18 off his four overs.

“The process I’ve been through – playing club cricket – really helped me hold my own,” the Nowshera native was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Tariq is set to get more game time for the men in green as he was picked for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, which will he held in Dambulla from January 7 to 11.
