Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad has slammed T20I captain Salman Ali Agha, describing him as the “biggest burden on the team.”
Shehzad took aim at Salman’s batting, saying it is not good enough, and also questioned why the 32-year-old has stopped using himself as a bowler.
Venting his frustration further, Shehzad blasted the Lahore native as being “completely clueless” when it comes to the captaincy.
“Salman Ali Agha looks like the biggest burden on the team. He’s not batting well, he’s stopped bowling, and as captain, he’s completely clueless,” the 34-year-old was quoted as saying by TOK Sports on X, formerly known as Twitter.
During Pakistan’s T20I series against South Africa, Salman amassed 35 runs in three games at an average of 17.50 and a strike-rate of 106.06.
As for the T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, he finished with 79 runs, which included a career-best 63 not out, at an average of 26.33 and a strike-rate of 125.39.
After this, Salman returned to domestic cricket and played for the State Bank of Pakistan in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) tournament, where he made 88 runs in four matches at an average of 22.
Next up for Salman will be Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka, which will comprise three T20Is that will be held in Dambulla from January 7 to 11.
