Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif wants to know why wicketkeeper-batsman Bismillah Khan keeps being ignored by the national selectors despite putting up solid numbers in domestic cricket.

Bismillah recently played for Multan Region in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (QeA Trophy), which is Pakistan’s four-day competition.

In eight matches, he amassed 401 runs, which included a top score of 138, at an average of 33.41.

Following this, he represented the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) tournament and made 137 runs in six games, which included a top score of 77, at an average of 34.25.

“He has been performing well for quite some time, yet he has never been given a proper chance in the national team,” Latif was quoted as saying by Geo Super.

Since Bismillah has yet to make his international debut, he played no part in Pakistan’s recent home series against South Africa, ODI series against Sri Lanka, and T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

The men in green will return to action very soon as they will travel to Sri Lanka to play three T20Is in Dambulla from January 7 to 11.
