Pakistan limited overs head coach Mike Hesson has praised batsman Usman Khan, branding him as a good player of spin.
Usman was overlooked for Pakistan’s 2025 Asia Cup campaign, but returned for their last two T20I assignments.
In the three-match series against South Africa, he scored 18 runs at an average of 18 and a strike-rate of 94.73.
As for the T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, the 30-year-old finished with 78 runs in five games at an average of 78 and a strike-rate of 125.80.
“Usman Khan plays spin well,” Hesson was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Usman just finished playing in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) tournament and accumulated 293 runs in six games for Sahir Associates, which included a century and a fifty, at an average of 58.60.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, which will take place in Dambulla from January 7 t0 11.
