Salman Ali Agha: “His international record isn’t that great, but in the PSL, he bats really well against spin in the middle overs”

Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha has admitted batsman Usman Khan’s “international record isn’t that great”.

Usman has featured in 27 T20Is and scored 335 runs at an average of 18.61 and a strike-rate of 120.93.

He has also played two ODIs and made 51 runs at an average of 25.50.

Despite his modest returns with the bat, Salman conceded that the 30-year-old, plays spin bowling “really well.”

“His international record isn’t that great, but in the PSL, he bats really well against spin in the middle overs,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.

Usman recently took part in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against South Africa, and mustered 18 runs at an average of 18 and a strike-rate of 94.73.

He performed better in the T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, accumulating 78 runs in five games at an average of 78 and a strike-rate of 125.80.

After that, the Karachi-born batsman returned to domestic cricket and played in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) tournament, where he scored 293 runs in six games for Sahir Associates, which included a century and a fifty, at an average of 58.60.
