Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan said big-hitter Fakhar Zaman “is a proven match-winner”.
Zaman has been in solid form as of late as during the home series against South Africa, he made 45 runs in three ODIs at an average of 15.
The 35-year-old fared a lot better in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, amassing 165 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 55.
As for the T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, he finished with 75 runs in five games at an average of 25 and a strike-rate of 150.
With Zaman getting older and many younger cricketers starting to step up and showcase their talent, Rizwan still thinks the veteran batsman has a place in the side as he is an impact player.
“He is a proven match-winner, and everyone knows his impact,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Zaman is now playing for the Desert Vipers in the International League T20 (ILT20) and has scored 171 runs in 10 matches at an average of 17.10 and a strike-rate of 118.75.
