Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha has urged promising batsman Hasan Nawaz to “keep working his game” as he wants him to “keep improving”.

Nawaz has shown immense potential thus far as he has produced a number of incredible performances with the bat.

Looking back at some of Pakistan’s series, the 23-year-old scored T20I fifties against Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

He also had an ODI debut to remember, smashing 63 not out against the West Indies.

Since then, though, things haven’t gone as well for him as he had a quiet 2025 Asia Cup, where he made 17 runs in three games at an average of 5.66 and a strike-rate of 65.38.

He failed to impress in the three-match T20I series against South Africa, mustering eight runs at an average of four and a strike-rate of 66.66.

As for the ODI series against the Proteas, the Islamabad native only made one run in the one game he played.

In light of his recent dip in form, Salman has cautioned Nawaz against becoming complacent and urged him to keep working hard.

“He has to keep working on his game and keep improving,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.

After the South Africa series, Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 in an ODI series.

The men in green then won a T20I tri-series that also included Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
