Former Pakistan cricketer Bazid Khan is rooting for Babar Azam to rediscover his form and knows everyone is hoping for the same.
Azam has gone through a lengthy rough patch that has left many people questioning if he will ever be the batsman he once was.
However, the 31-year-old has shown signs of improvement lately as during the home series against South Africa, he started off with 131 runs in two Tests, which included a top score of 50, at an average of 32.75.
He then proceeded to make 79 runs in three T20Is, which included a top score of 68, at an average of 39.50 and a strike-rate of 117.91.
As for the ODIs, the Lahore native amassed 45 runs in three games at an average of 15.
It was during the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka that Azam really stole the spotlight as he scored his first century in international cricket since August 2023.
Overall, he ended the series with 165 runs at an average of 82.50.
“Everybody is hoping that he (Babar) gets into form,” Bazid was quoted as saying on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Azam’s most recent assignment was Pakistan’s T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, where he accumulated 127 runs in five games, which included a top score of 74, at an average of 31.75 and a strike-rate of 112.38.
