
Kane Williamson: “I only caught the latter part of Inzamam-ul-Haq’s career, but he was another wonderful player”

New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson has lauded legendary Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, calling him a “wonderful player”.
In addition to being one of the most respected captains in the history of Pakistan cricket, Inzamam also established himself as one of the country’s top batsmen.
He featured in 120 Tests and amassed 8,830 runs, which included 25 centuries and 46 fifties, at an average of 49.60.
The 55-year-old was also involved in 378 ODIs and made 11,739 runs, which included 10 hundreds and 83 half-centuries, at an average of 39.52.
As for his T20I career, he struck 11 not out in the one match he played.
Even though Williamson only witnessed the latter parts of Inzamam’s illustrious career, the Multan-born batsman still had a profound impact on him.
“I only caught the latter part of Inzamam-ul-Haq’s career, but he was another wonderful player,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Pakistan just finished taking on South Africa, which began with them drawing the two-Test series 1-1.
As for the T20Is and ODIs, the men in green won both series 2-1.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka from November 11 to 15, after which they will participate in a T20I tri-series with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe from November 17 to 29.
