Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha believes spin-bowling all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz “has so much potential with the bat”.
Nawaz is slowly starting to cement his spot in the T20I squad following a string of superb performances with both the bat and ball.
During the 2025 Asia Cup, the 31-year-old scored 113 runs in seven matches at an average of 18.83 and a strike-rate of 136.14.
Bowling-wise, he claimed two wickets at an average of 43.50 and an economy rate of 7.25.
“Nawaz also has so much potential with the bat, and hopefully he continues building on it,” Salman was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan are now facing South Africa and in the two-Test series that recently finished, Salman amassed 170 runs, which included a top score of 93, at an average of 42.50.
The two sides are now playing a three-match T20I series, where the men in green find themselves 1-0 down at the moment.
In the 1st T20I, Salman made two runs, while Nawaz struck 36 runs and snapped up three wickets.
Following the T20I series, Pakistan and South Africa will compete in a three-match ODI series scheduled between November 4 and 8.
After the South Africa series, Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series from November 11 to 15, before joining a T20I tri-series with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe from November 17 to 29.
