Misbah-ul-Haq: “Our batters can’t play quality spin bowling, they lack the skills to do it. They have no release shot, can’t read the hand, no sweeps and can’t even rotate strike”

Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has conceded that the current batsmen are unable to “play quality spin bowling” as “they lack the skills to do it.”
Misbah pointed out that the batters can’t sweep the ball or rotate strike, which is extremely worrying.
Pakistan’s struggles against spin were prominent during the recent two-Test series against South Africa as they struggled against bowlers like Simon Harmer and Keshav Maharaj.
Misbah underlined that without change, the batsmen in the Pakistan team right now will persistently struggle whenever facing world-class spinners.
“Our batters can’t play quality spin bowling, they lack the skills to do it. They have no release shot, can’t read the hand, no sweeps and can’t even rotate strike,” the 51-year-old was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan’s Test series against South Africa ended as a 1-1 draw.
Both teams will now play a three-match T20I series from October 28 through November 1.
This will be followed by three ODIs between Pakistan and South Africa from November 4 to 8.
After that, Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series, which is scheduled to be held between November 11 and 15.
Pakistan will then join Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in a T20I tri-series from November 17 to 29.
