Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha has been very impressed with left-arm pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, saying his bowling has been “outstanding”.

Afridi is firing on all cylinders after previously being criticised for his lack of wickets and drop in bowling speed.

With the 25-year-old back up to 140 kph and troubling batsmen with his superb bowling, Salman hopes he will maintain his newfound momentum going forward.

“The way Shaheen is bowling is outstanding,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.

During the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan, Afridi took four wickets in four games at an average of 19.50 and an economy rate of 5.57.

As for the 2025 Asia Cup, he was Pakistan’s highest wicket-taker with 10 wickets in seven games at an average of 16.40 and an economy rate of 6.60.

The series consists of two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs.

In the ongoing 1st Test in Lahore, Salman scored 93 runs in the 1st innings. Afridi, meanwhile, is still searching for his first wicket.
