Pakistan pace icon Shoaib Akhtar said no one can teach wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Haris anything as he will continue playing his natural game.
Haris is back in the national team, but despite having put up a few strong performances, his batting has been inconsistent for the most part.
During the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan, he mustered 33 runs at an average of 6.60 and a strike-rate of 84.61.
The 24-year-old from Peshawar had a lot more success in the 2025 Asia Cup, scoring 131 runs in seven games, which included a top score of 66, at an average of 21.83 and a strike-rate of 133.67.
“No one can teach Mohammad Haris anything. He will play his own game,” Akhtar was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The men in green managed to make it to the final of the Asia Cup, but couldn’t get their hands on the coveted trophy as they lost to India by five wickets.
Next up for Pakistan will be a home series against South Africa from October 12 to November 8.
The series will consist of two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs.
