
Ashely Noffke: “We’ve seen Salman Mirza and Ahmed Daniyal come in and perform well, and we want more of that”

Pakistan bowling coach Ashley Noffke is looking forward to stronger performances from the pace duo of Salman Mirza and Ahmed Daniyal following their promising start to international cricket.
Both players made their debuts during Pakistan’s T20I tour of Bangladesh, with Mirza taking seven wickets in three matches at an average of 8.57 and an economy rate of 5.21.
The 31-year-old then proceeded to play in the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan, where he picked up one wicket in two games at an average of 74 and an economy rate of 9.25.
As for 28-year-old Daniyal, he featured in two T20Is against Bangladesh and claimed three wickets at an average of 13 and an economy rate of 5.57.
“We’ve seen Salman Mirza and Ahmed Daniyal come in and perform well, and we want more of that,” Noffke was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Pakistan recently participated in the 2025 Asia Cup, where they made it to the final before losing to India.
Mirza was part of Pakistan’s squad for the tournament, but didn’t play a single game.
Daniyal, meanwhile, didn’t make the cut.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a home series against South Africa from October 12 to November 8.
The series will consist of two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs.
