Pakistan T20I vice-captain Shadab Khan has praised batsman Sahibzada Farhan, saying he is “currently in top form”.

Farhan has been a force to be reckoned with in domestic cricket as he was the highest run-scorer in the National T20 Cup with 605 runs in seven matches for Peshawar Region, which included three centuries and two fifties, at an incredible average of 121 and a strike-rate of 189.65.

He then proceeded to represent Islamabad United in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which the team Shadab captains.

Farhan once again topped the run-scoring chart as he accumulated 449 runs in 12 games, which included a hundred and three half-centuries, at an average of 37.41 and a strike-rate of 152.20.

Fully aware of how dominant the 29-year-old from Charsadda has been, Shadab hopes he continues to shine for the Pakistan team.

“He’s currently in top form, and we wish him all the best. Hopefully, he can continue this in the Pakistan team as well,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

After PSL 10, Farhan featured in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore and made 75 runs in two games, which included a career-best 74, at an average of 37.50 and a strike-rate of 166.66.

He then travelled to Bangladesh with the Pakistan team and struck 63 runs in the one T20I he played.

As for the tour of the West Indies, Farhan amassed 91 runs in three T20Is, which included a top score of 74, at an average of 30.33 and a strike-rate of 126.38.

Pakistan are now facing the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in a T20I tri-series in Sharjah, which will conclude on September 7.

In the two matches he has played thus far, Farhan has made 29 runs at an average of 14.50 and a strike-rate of 193.33.

Following the T20I tri-series, Pakistan will feature in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will take place in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
