Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha sees left-arm spinner Sufiyan Muqeem becoming a match-winner in white-ball cricket.
Muqeem has produced a number of fantastic performances in both ODIs and T20Is, which has led to many people calling for him to become the first-choice spinner.
Aware of what the 25-year-old can do, Salman acknowledged that he will be in the limited overs set-up “for a long time”.
“He will serve Pakistan in white-ball cricket for a long time and win games for the side in the future,” he was quoted as saying by ARY News.
Recently, Muqeem played for the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and took one wicket in three matches at an average of 107 and an economy rate of 9.72.
He then missed Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore, which the men in green won 3-0.
The talented spinner didn’t feature in Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh either, where they lost the T20I series 2-1.
Muqeem returned for the ongoing tour of the West Indies and did well in the three-match T20I series, claiming three wickets at an average of 19.66 and an economy rate of 4.91.
Pakistan and the West Indies will now play three ODIs, with the first game getting underway on August 9 in Trinidad.
