Pakistan batsman Babar Azam said he rarely gets out to good deliveries as most of the time his own mistakes are to blame.
Azam has not been anywhere near his best for numerous months, but is determined to get out of the rough patch he finds himself in.
During the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), he showed signs of improvement while captaining the Peshawar Zalmi as he amassed 288 runs in 10 games, which included three fifties, at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 128.57.
“It’s rarely due to good deliveries that I get out. Most of the time, it’s my own mistakes,” the 30-year-old was quoted as saying by Samaa TV.
After PSL 10 ended, Pakistan took on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series in Lahore, but Azam was not part of the squad.
He was also ignored for the tour of Bangladesh, where the men in green lost the T20I series 2-1.
Pakistan are now touring the West Indies for three T20Is and three ODIs, but Azam was only included in the ODI team.
The men in green are 1-0 up in the T20I series after winning the first match by 14 runs.
The 2nd T20I will be held on August 3 in Lauderhill.
