Pakistan T20I vice-captain Shadab Khan has applauded batsman Sahibzada Farhan for his consistent hard work, saying “it was bound to pay off”.

Farhan has been a dominant force in domestic cricket for quite some time, which has led to him getting another opportunity to play international cricket.

He was the top run-scorer in the National T20 Cup, amassing 605 runs in seven matches for Peshawar Region, which included three centuries and two fifties, at a sensational average of 121 and a strike-rate of 189.65.

The 29-year-old didn’t slow down at all in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he topped the run-scoring chart once again, making 449 runs in 12 games for Islamabad United, which included a hundred and three half-centuries, at an average of 37.41 and a strike-rate of 152.20.

Shadab noted that Farhan has “worked really hard behind the scenes”, which has been the reason for his success on the field.

“I think credit goes to Sahibzada – he’s worked really hard behind the scenes. The way he’s been working, it was bound to pay off. He plays for Pakistan on and off, but that hasn’t changed his work ethic,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

After PSL 10, Farhan was involved in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and struck 75 runs in two games, which included a career-best knock of 74, at an average of 37.50 and a strike-rate of 166.66.

Pakistan won the series 3-0.

Farhan will be in action again very soon as Pakistan will go up against Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series in Mirpur, which will take place from July 20 to 24.
