Tanvir Ahmed: “Shadab fools everyone by batting at No. 4 in the PSL, hitting a few sixes, and taking a couple of wickets. He claims to be the world’s leading spin-bowling all-rounder, but in international cricket, he repeatedly fails and gets exposed”

Former Pakistan speedster Tanvir Ahmed believes spin-bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan is fooling everyone with his performances in domestic cricket as he keeps getting exposed at the international level.
Shadab recently captained Islamabad United in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and took 14 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 16.57 and an economy rate of 7.90.
The 26-year-old, who is Pakistan’s T20I vice-captain, also scored 173 runs at an average of 24.71 and a strike-rate of 155.85.
Despite his solid campaign in PSL 10, Tanvir isn’t impressed with Shadab, reiterating that the Mianwali native keeps falling short when representing Pakistan.
“Shadab fools everyone by batting at No. 4 in the PSL, hitting a few sixes, and taking a couple of wickets,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
“He claims to be the world’s leading spin-bowling all-rounder, but in international cricket, he repeatedly fails and gets exposed. He performs in franchise leagues but struggles when representing Pakistan. His PSL exploits don’t translate to national success.”
After PSL 10, Shadab was involved in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and claimed four wickets at an average of 16.25 and an economy rate of 7.22.
Batting-wise, he finished with 55 runs at an average of 27.50 and a strike-rate of 157.14.
Pakistan won the series 3-0.
