Legendary Pakistan cricketer Younis Khan said everyone enjoys burgers, but has urged wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan to take care of his fitness.

Azam has long been criticised for being overweight, even though he has worked hard to get fitter.

Despite this, Younis noted that he needs to keep working on getting healthier, which will only be achieved if he shows control and discipline in maintaining a good diet.

“We all enjoy burgers – I do too – but as professional athletes, we have to show control. Diet and discipline are key at this level. If Azam wants a long and successful career, fitness must be a top priority. There are no shortcuts,” the 47-year-old from Mardan said on Josh Jaga Dey as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Recently, Azam was in action in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and scored 66 runs in seven matches for Islamabad United at an average of 11 and a strike-rate of 101.53.

Following PSL 10, Pakistan went up against Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, but the 26-year-old was not picked in the squad.

The men in green won the series 3-0.
