Pakistan opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq has made it clear that he has simple goals when it comes to playing international cricket – performing well and winning matches for his country.
Imam has been in and out of the national team lately, but did feature in the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, where he only managed to make four runs in two games at an average of four.
Despite a disappointing performance against the Black Caps, the 29-year-old still averages 47.04 in the 50-over format.
“My only aim is to win matches for Pakistan and perform,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Following the tour of New Zealand, many national players were involved in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), but Imam was not selected by any franchise.
He also didn’t play in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, which the men in green won 3-0.
